Amélie Verdier (born 1977) is a French senior civil servant. Starting in January 2, 2017, she has been budget director in the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.

Life change

She was born on 1 July 1977 at Clichy, Hauts-de-Seine. She studied at Lycée Henri-IV, University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, and at Sciences Po.[1]

She worked at the Inspection générale des finances. Between 2005 and 2009, she taught public finance at Sciences Po.[2] From 2012 to 2014, she was chief of staff to Jérôme Cahuzac and then Bernard Cazeneuve.[3] In June 2014, she was appointed secretary general of Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris.[2] On 21 December 2016, she was appointed director of the budget by the Council of Ministers.[4]
