María Avelina Lasso de la Vega y Ascázubi was the wife of Ecuadorian President Leónidas Plaza Gutiérrez. As his wife, she held the position of First Lady of the nation twice. The first time was for a few months after they got married in 1905, and the second time was from 1912 to 1916.
