Chloroauric acid

Chloroauric acid is an inorganic acid with the formula H[AuCl
4]. Pure chloroauric acid is a yellow powder but it is usually seen dissolved in hydrochloric acid.^[1]

Preparation change

Chloroauric acid can be made by reacting gold with aqua regia.^[2]

Safety change

Chloroauric acid is corrosive and toxic and must be handled with caution. Gloves and a face shield should be worn when handling the acid.
