UK private-sector mental healthcare provider
Cygnet Health Care is a private provider of mental health services in the United Kingdom. Universal Health Services, a big American company, bought it in 2014. In 2022 its income was about £551 million. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation were about £48 million. Almost all the income comes from the NHS or local authorities.[1]
The Care Quality Commission [2]and NHS England have warned it several times about the quality of its services.[3]
