Fakenham is a town and civil parish in North Norfolk, England. In 2001 there were 7,357 people living in Fakenham, rising to 7,617 in 2011.[1] Fakenham is a Saxon name, meaning "Homestead of Facca", or "a place on a fair river".

It is on the River Wensum about 25 miles North West of Norwich. Fakenham has been a market town since 1250. The church in Fakenham was founded in 1593, and rebuilt in 1825.
