Fenway Park
ballpark in Boston, Massachusetts; home of the Boston Red Sox
Fenway Park is a baseball stadium in Boston, Massachusetts. It is the home stadium of the Boston Red Sox. The park opened in 1912. It is the oldest of all current Major League Baseball parks.
The ballpark has also been the home field of several football teams. Some Boston college teams have played there. The New England Patriots also played there in their early years.
The name Fenway Park comes from the stadium being in the Fenway district of Boston. One of its well-known features is the Green Monster, a tall wall in left field. Seats were added to the Green monster in 2003.
The Major League Baseball All-Star Games in 1946, 1961, and 1999 were played at Fenway. Nine World Series games have been played there.
