Flydubai

government-owned low-cost airline

Flydubai is a low-cost airline based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.[1] It was established by the government of Dubai in July 2008. Although not part of The Emirates Group, Flydubai received support from Emirates during its initial establishment. The airline operates from Dubai International Airport and serves 114 destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Flydubai started its operations in June 2009 with flights to Beirut and Amman, and it has since expanded its route network.[2][3] In 2020, Flydubai faced losses due to the grounding of Boeing's Max 737 aircraft worldwide.[4]
