Gordian I

Roman Emperor

Gordian I (Latin: Marcus Antonius Gordianus Sempronianus Romanus Africanus;[1] c. 159 – 12 April 238) was a Roman Emperor. He was only emperor for one month, alongside his son Gordian II in 238, the Year of the Six Emperors. He was involved in a rebellion against the Emperor Maximinus Thrax. His armies were defeated by those loyal to Maximinus. Gordian then killed himself.
