Ichihara (市原市, Ichihara-shi) is a Japanese city in Chiba Prefecture on the island of Honshū.[1]

History change
Ichihara is in the area of ancient Kazusa province.[2]
2011 earthquake change
On Friday, March 11, 2011, the Tōhoku earthquake caused damage in Ichihara. Natural gas storage tanks were set on fire by the earthquake.[3]
Geography change
Ichihara is on the east coast of Toyko bay.[4] In other words, it is on the west coast of Bōsō Peninsula.[5]
