Joe Tiller

American football player and coach

Joseph Henry "Joe" Tiller (December 7, 1942 – September 30, 2017) was an American football player and coach. He was born in Toledo, Ohio.

Tiller served as the head football coach at the University of Wyoming from 1991 to 1996 and Purdue University from 1997 to 2008, having a career college football record of 126–92–1. Tiller was known as one of the innovators of the spread offense.[1] He played for the Calgary Stampeders and for the Montana State Bobcats.

Tiller died on September 30, 2017 in Buffalo, Wyoming at the age of 74.[2]
