John Elders

rugby union player (1930-2015)

John Elders (18 December 1930 – 3 May 2015) was an English rugby union player. He played with Leicester Tigers between 1953 and 1958, scoring the third most tries in the 1950s for the club with a total of 38. He also captained the club for a number of seasons. From 1972 until 1974, he coached England national rugby union team.

Elders was born in Middlesbrough. In 1981, he moved to Australia but moved back to England in 1981.

Elders died after a long illness on 3 May 2015, aged 84.[1]
