Kevin Killian
American poet, author, and playwright
Kevin Killian (December 24, 1952 – June 15, 2019) was an American poet, author, editor and playwright. Killian, who was openly gay, wrote mostly LGBT literature. My Vocabulary Did This to Me: The Collected Poetry of Jack Spicer, which he co-edited with Peter Gizzi, won the American Book Award for poetry in 2009. His collection of short gay erotic fiction, Impossible Princess (2009), won the 2010 Lambda Literary Award as the best gay erotic fiction. He was also co-founder of the poetry, stage, and performance group Poets Theater, based in San Francisco, California.
Killian was born in Long Island, New York. He died on June 15, 2019, at the age of 66.[1]
