By adding one of the following codes to the .css file of whatever skin you are using, certain parts of the edit tools can be turned on or off

function	default	code to change from default
Copyright warning	On	#editpage-copywarn {display:none}
Special characters	Off (monobook)	#editpage-specialchars {display:block}
Special characters	On (others)	#editpage-specialchars {display:none}

Can we make it turn-offable?

On the English Wikipedia, the copyright warning can be turned off for individual users who edit their own monobook.css. (See en:MediaWiki:Edittools and en:MediaWiki talk:Edittools to see how it's done) Can we have the same functionality here? Basically, just put the following at the beginning: <div id="editpage-copywarn"> and the following at the end: </div> and then any editor can put #editpage-copywarn {display:none} in their monobook.css to turn the warning off. Some minor changes

There is currently a giant gap between the submit form and 'When you click "Save page", your changes will be made right away!', because of the extra line break between the opening comment (<!-- Text here will be shown below edit and upload forms. -->) and the beginning of the paragraph. Please remove this space. Also, the "$1" parameter in '*Any writing you send to Wikipedia is legally released under the GNU Free Documentation License (see $1 for details).' doesn't seem to be working correctly. Where are the characters?

Problem with REDIRECT

When I click #REDIRECT [[]] in edit mode, #REDIRECT and [[]] are getting inserted separately. Shouldn't that need to be corrected?···Vanischenu^「m/_Talk」 14:54, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

Hmmm... Do you mean that you have to click them separately to insert each, rather than it all being one button? They should be getting inserted together; from what I can see they're inside the same set of HTML code tags. It might be a compatibility issue. I can't tell if it works on my edit, because I have the JavaScript version enabled. Osiris (talk) 15:28, 15 December 2012 (UTC)

In contrast to that of simple. (which uses #REDIRECT&#32;[[+]])

• ml., it. and es. uses #REDIRECT[[+]].
• commons uses #REDIRECT[[+]] like ml. and es.
• nn and fr. #OMDIRIGER[[+]] and #REDIRECTION[[+]] respectively.
• da uses #REDIRECT [[+]] but does not have any problem
• enwp OTOH have a .js page! So does de

en.Wikivoyage and ta.wikipedia use the same as simple.wp, i.e., #REDIRECT&#32;[[+]], and I have the same results there as in here. I would like to know if this happens only for me.
