Meron Benvenisti

Israeli political scientist and politician (1934–2020)

Meron Benvenisti (Hebrew: מירון בנבנשתי, April 21, 1934 – September 20, 2020) was an Israeli political scientist and politician. He was the Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem under Teddy Kollek from 1971 to 1978. He was in charge of East Jerusalem and was Jerusalem's Chief Planning Officer.[1] He was a critic of Israel's policies towards Palestine.

Benvenisti was born in Jerusalem and also died in Jerusalem from renal failure at the age of 86.[2]
