Opel Insignia

large family car

The Opel Insignia was a car produced by the German carmaker Opel from 2008 to 2022. It is available as a hatchback, saloon or an estate. Like many Opel models, it is sold as a Vauxhall in the United Kingdom. In the North American and Chinese markets it is sold as the Buick Regal since the 2011 model year as a sedan only. The Insignia was originally intended to be the second generation Saturn Aura, but because GM discontinued the Saturn brand it was instead offered to Buick and was marketed as the fifth generation Buick Regal. The model was facelifted in 2013 and as a 2014 model for the Buick. The second generation went go on sale in mid-2017 and a new version of the Buick Regal was revealed as well, it was sold in Australia as the Holden Commodore from early 2018 to 2020 as Australian production of it stopped in October 2017.
