Popke Popkema

Dutch Paralympic archer

Popke Popkema (25 February 1940 — 14 April 2003) was a Dutch Paralympic archer from Nieuwebrug. He competed at five consecutive Summer Paralympics between 1964 and 1980 and won a total of one gold, three silver and three bronze medals.[1] He also medalled at Stoke Mandeville Games.[2][3]

He became impaired after an accident in 1960. He started with archery as part of his rehabilitation.[4]

He worked as a statistician at Philips in Eindhoven since 1958.[5] He later moved to Riethoven.[6]
