What in the world is activity? Shouldn't this be something like "concentration"? ZyGlycan (talk) 15:09, 7 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

"In chemical thermodynamics, activity (symbol a) is a measure of the 'effective concentration' of a species in a mixture". [1] In science, it is often not possible to simplify the language in one page without adding several more to clarify necessary terms. This is a frequent dilemma on Simple.
