Talk:IP address
Latest comment: 5 years ago by 107.134.78.59 in topic static or not?
Okay, so I've basically copied/moved this from Internet Protocol and added some more information, but it isn't complete.
Missing Information change
- A link to Routing should be there somehow (maybe also create the page :/)
- Talk about DHCP
- More talk about NAT
- More information on CIDR notation
- A nice picture to illustrate a subnet
- A picture showing network ID, host ID, and subnet mask
- Way more details about IPv6
I would probably just copy from regular wikipedia and simplify it.
Also, please find sources!

IPv6 is an RFC by the IETF not the IEEE?!

static or not? change
So, does a laptop which gets moved around to different WiFi hotspots generally have one, unchanged IP address? 107.134.78.59 (talk) 16:12, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
