Please separate mental illness from mental handicaps (developmental disabilities). I know many mentally handicapped individuals, and none of them would consider their disability to be a mental illness. An illness is something that is undesirable, whereas few of the mentally disabled people I know have any desire to be any different.24.64.223.203 08:48, 25 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

It is disputed where the line is between the dichotomy in which you have described mental disorders. What is desirable differs depending on an individual's opinion. A person who has had the same condition all his life is likely to find it difficult to imagine what it would be like to be psychologically typical. Jim Michael (talk) 01:43, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Circadian rhythm sleep disorder change

A circadian rhythm sleep disorder is a physical or physiological disorder. Circadian rhythms are biological. They are not mental or psychological. The ICD registers circadian rhythm sleep disorder under Diseases of the nervous system, G47.2 in Chapter VI. I am removing it from the list. Hordaland 01:14, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
