I've tried to simplify it as best I can but I am afraid it is still complex. If you can, try and simplify the following things that are in the introduction:

• The words configuration, framework, considerations
• This sentence: Group theory is also useful in studying the symmetry of molecular orbitals, with applications such as the Hückel method, ligand field theory, and the Woodward–Hoffmann rules.
