This may well merit a separate article. But there should at least be mention of the fact that at times Britain and mainland Europe were joined and areas now submerged beneath the North Sea were inhabited by humans as well as various animals such as lions and mammoths. Many finds relating to prehistoric human habitation have been found and continue to be found under the sea. 86.135.135.189 (talk) 08:42, 9 May 2008 (UTC) Peter
