Usage
Template:ISO 639 name as is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code as, for example: {{Translated page |as |name of page at Assamese Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Assamese Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Assamese Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |as}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|as| some text in Assamese}} wraps the text with <span lang="as"> and includes articles in Category:Articles containing Assamese-language text. Also available is {{Lang-as |some text in Assamese}} which displays as Assamese: some text in Assamese.
- {{R from other language|as|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Assamese-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|as}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Assamese-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
