Usage
Template:ISO 639 name gd is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code gd, for example: {{Translated page |gd |name of page at Scottish Gaelic Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Scottish Gaelic Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Scottish Gaelic Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |gd}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|gd| some text in Scottish Gaelic}} wraps the text with <span lang="gd"> and includes articles in Category:Articles containing Scottish Gaelic-language text. Also available is {{Lang-gd |some text in Scottish Gaelic}} which displays as Scottish Gaelic: some text in Scottish Gaelic.
- {{R from other language|gd|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Scottish Gaelic-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|gd}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Scottish Gaelic-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
