Hello, and welcome to my user page! My name is Luke, and if you want to leave me a message on my talk page, feel free to use my real name. I am also a member of the English Wikipedia, English Wikiquote, and MetaWiki Commons under the same name. Although I am new to the Simple English Wikipedia (November 2007), I am not new to the English Wikipedia, and I have been editing there for nearly two years. As of January 4, 2008, I have created 34 articles. If you would like, you can view the list here.
Background change
About Me change
I was born and raised in California in the United States, and still reside there. As an American, I grew up speaking English, and know no other language, though I plan to learn Spanish soon. I believe that all cultures in the world are important, and the idea of passing knowledge through a free encyclopedia to those who speak English as a second language is a great one. I am proud to be a part of this Wikipedia.
VGA association change
On the Simple English Wikipedia, I strive to improve the general quality of this encyclopedia, but my main focus is to get as many very good articles as possible here, which in turn improves the general quality of the wiki. In the VGA nomination process, I am currently an active voter and nominate articles that seem fit when I can. My first nomination was Nickel Creek, and as of December 4, 2007, I have nominated 7 articles. Of those 7 articles, 5 have passed.
Contributions change
During my short time spent at the Simple English Wikipedia, I have mainly worked on promoting articles to VGA status, and I created the Nickel Creek article, a current VGA. Other articles I have created include Chris Thile, Goat Rock Beach, and Fiona Apple. I have significantly contributed to other articles as well, like Mount St. Helens, an article which I wrote the majority of.
Interests change
One of the major influences in my life is music; my musical interests include Nickel Creek, The Waifs, ThaMuseMeant, Chris Thile, Sean Watkins, Surprise Me Mr. Davis, Fiona Apple, Les Claypool's Fancy Band, Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Umphrey's McGee, and Steve Kimock. I love music, so you may find me creating and editing musical articles. I am an intermediate violinist, and am very interested in math and history of any sort. I also love my native home of California.
Future ambitions change
In the future, I plan to become an administrator on the Simple English Wikipedia. After a year here, at the most, I hope to be an administrator, or at least a helpful contributor to the wiki. Well, I guess that's about it!
