Backpack

You've seen the many IPs that add and remove the youtube links on pages like Backpack, so there's no need to warn them again, they should just be reported. — *Fehufangą✉ Talk page 13:10, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please ensure that you are warning users appropriately and moving up the levels as the vandalism continues. This user ended up getting 3 level 2 warnings, when you could have moved up to level 3 or 4 after the two previous warnings. --Ferien (talk) 15:05, 3 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Quick deletion of Dondal Trump Rule 34

The page you wrote, Dondal Trump Rule 34, has been selected for quick deletion. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. Category:Computing

Is it just me, or is Category:Computing really badly organized? It should be hierarchical, but I can't tell what goes into which of the subcategories or their subcategories. I'm wondering if you have any ideas for how to make it clearer or improve it - if not, I'll try to figure it out myself based on the enwiki categories. Lights and freedom (talk) 05:37, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is just my personal opinion, others may possibly have different ideas so please feel free to ignore me. Science and technology is an emerging topic, computing is a super rapidly emerging topic, so categories like these will maybe never become well-organized as you desire. But if there is a clearly suitable subcategory, then the page should be moved to there. In my personal impression, computing gets a new subfield every month or year, so if our categorization scheme blindly follow every academic/technical trend (which may include original research), someday we will cause overcategorization and/or step out beyond the interest of our readership. In other words, following enwiki is a possible option but maybe it's not an absolute answer to your question. I currently have no plans to make subcategories for this field, so if you go ahead I and others will follow up and check out if there is anything else to do. I hope my response can help you, and thank you very much for bringing this agenda to my attention. MathXplore (talk) 06:39, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
In addition, if you plan to follow enwiki categories or anything outside here, the first thing to follow should be non-disputable things. If there is a CFD, I think you should avoid following that subject until resolved. MathXplore (talk) 06:47, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

QD tags

It isn't necessary to make multiple QD tags, and it's actually easier, for both the deleting administrator and user whose article is being deleted, if you just put one. Firstly, as the user can see exactly why their article was deleted from their user talk page. Secondly, as the delete reason isn't prefilled for admins in Special:Delete if you put any more than one QD tag on. Poland national under-23 football team wasn't actually eligibie for G2 anyway. G2 only applies to pages that are clearly tests, for example one that might say "I am testing". Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 10:48, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please also remember that we should be waiting a day or two before tagging R2 redirects. --Ferien (talk) 10:51, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
