Attribution re: templates

Hi, Math. I reverted [User talk:QLDer in NSW: Difference between revisions - Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia this change you made] on QLDer's talk page. Attribution doesn't usually apply to templates, because there's nothing copyrightable there. You might be able to make a case for attribution on a template's doc page because there's prose on those, but there usually isn't on the template itself. -- Auntof6 (talk) 05:42, 1 August 2023 (UTC)

Well, simplewiki could use more admins that deal with the QD backlog, and the anti-vandalism work you do would probably translate pretty well into admin work. Also, you meet every criteria I could possibly think of. QuicoleJR (talk) 16:24, 2 August 2023 (UTC)

Thank you very much. I think somebody said the same things before. I want you to understand that the works you have mentioned is not everything of Wikipedia administration, and does not require full access to adminship abilities. At least, eliminator or this is enough for the mentioned tasks. Therefore, I have no reason to believe that this can justify full access to adminship. In the past, I have seen many adminship requests at WMF wikis for anti-vandal works, I recognize most of them were rejected.

In addition, I only request permissions for technical reasons. Since I already have everything that I need, I have no further requests to the community at this moment.

By the way, I'm not sure which criteria has been satisfied by my works. Can you clarify them as much as possible?

Apologies are not needed, actually your question at public space should be appreciated. I usually have these types of questions by mail and everytime I have to re-explain everything from the beginning, so this thread would make things easier. According to global policies, WMF projects with less than 10 admins or less than 3 active admins are considered to require additional assistance for anti-vandalism and non-controversial routine maintenance, so when our project is closer to such situations we may need to revisit this agenda.

Category:Sportspeople by sport and nationality

It depends on what they are. I don't think we welcomed trivia sections. Sometimes trivia can appear at somewhere else, if they are unsourced or otherwise untrustworthy they may be removed. @Khidrsalam: The link is WP:Deletion review. However, I have restored the page because the QD reason was not valid.

@Ory rtio: Please be aware that the QD G4 option is only for pages that have been deleted following a discussion at RFD. This article had been deleted via the QD process, so G4 could not be used. Category:Pages using vgrelease without a region

Hi, Math. Thanks for creating this category. For future reference, when you create tracking categories, it's helpful to include the {{empty category}} template to keep them from being listed at Special:UnusedCategories.

I once looked into including {{empty category}} in the tracking category template. I remember finding a reason not to do that, but I don't remember what the reason was.
