Hey Razorflame

It's nice to have you back. Will you be interested in helping fill out redlinks in Tiny Thompson? I'm interested in making it a VGA. Maxim(talk) 22:58, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, sure, I'll be able to do that in a second. I just need to either figure out how to get that Archive Box to collapse or have someone be able to collapse it for me, because it is screwing up my talk page design. Cheers, Razorflame 23:06, 26 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

G'day to you!

Good to see you back - I am still plodding away here - I have decided to go back to my early edits and clean them up, and try to finish all the stubs I created on the way. I have spent a lot of time working on Ben Hall - the Australian bushranger, so if you have a time I'd love some suggestions - I think it would make a good article soon. Look forward to hearing from you soon, Peterdownunder (talk) 03:27, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

That is good to hear that you have gone back to your earlier edits to fix them up :). As to your article that you have been working on for a long time, Ben Hall, I copyedited a section of the article for you and would suggest to you to get it copyedited for you before you try to get it promoted to a Good Article. The article desperately needs to be copyedited. I cannot copyedit it for you at this time, but I might be able to copyedit it for you tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. It all depends upon my mood. If I am not feeling it, then I can't copyedit whole articles. Cheers, Razorflame 03:33, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
It certainly does need work - I have got too close to it to see a lot of the problems. Right now I am going gardening! It's 27 outside and sunny, the cherries and the berries need eating - I might even bring a few back inside for the rest of the family. Have fun...Peterdownunder (talk) 03:40, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
That sounds like fun :). Have fun! Cheers, Razorflame 03:43, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi!

Hiya razorflame! I've heard of you so much, but only saw you editing very little (I arrived just when you left). It's great to have you back here, and thanks for the barnstar! Regards, Yotcmdr✼ Merry Christmas ! ✼ 10:04, 27 December 2008 (UTC) Reply

Edit summary

This isn't really an accurate edit summary... Majorly talk 20:51, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I know that...I was just trying to find the appropriate edit summary to use for exactly what it was that I was doing. Anyways....cheers, Razorflame 20:55, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

RFD closure

You recently withdrew the Tuscan food RFD, but left the template at Tuscan food. Is there any reason for this, or can it be removed? Thanks Soup Dish (talk) 21:01, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, sorry about that. I forgot to remove it from the Tuscan food page. Feel free to remove it from that page for me :). Cheers, Razorflame 21:13, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome back Razor! Long time no see! Why so long? Good to have you back! :) Kennedy (talk) 22:07, 27 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sandbox

I know Chris G already gave you a warning, which you reverted, for this but, please do not vandalize articles "just for fun." If you want to test out your rollback, use the sandbox, but please don't do it on articles. The rollback tool is for reverting blatant vandalism, not for playing around and having fun, Either way (talk) 03:33, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Indeed. You should know better than this, being here for such a long time, and having 7 self nominations for adminship. Jonas D. Rand T 04:03, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was testing whether or not the bot responds to all users. I should have used the sandbox or something like that. I am sorry about that but I was kind of getting alittle ticked off at the bot because it kept on reverting vandalism before I was even able to revert it myself. I will refrain from doing such things in the future. Cheers, Razorflame 04:27, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Secret?

Hi! I'd like to know, what's your secret to editing so fast??? You just seem to fill the whole New Changes page in under half an hour!!! Yotcmdr✼ Merry Christmas ! ✼ 20:28, 28 December 2008 (UTC) Reply

Having a preset routine :). For every page that I create, I know exactly what needs to be changed in order to make the page simple enough for this website and for other aesthetics. For example, when I create a Romanian river stub, I know that I need to change the stub from whatever the English Wikipedia has to {{romania-stub}}, remove the excess information that isn't needed here, add the en:WP iw link, and add the sentence about what a tributary means. Since I have already created well over 1,250 Romanian river stubs, I know the routine by heart, so it is easy for me to create them :). That is my secret. Also, it helps to have a high speed internet connection ;). Cheers, Razorflame 20:31, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I've seen you've created over 3000 articles! I've only done just over 600, 5 times less than you. I also have a routine for them I know off by heart! I hope to create more pages than you, with my communes of France! Thanks for your quick answer, Yotcmdr✼ Merry Christmas ! ✼ 20:35, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
3,143 articles to be exact. Good luck trying to overcome the amount of articles that I have created since I joined this site :). I create, on average, between 70 and 200 articles a day (with the most articles created in a single day because around 250), so you will have your work cut out for you ;). Cheers, Razorflame 20:45, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Don't worry I can do it! And I'm not short of articles to write!! Yotcmdr✼ Merry Christmas ! ✼ 20:47, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Good luck to you ;). I've deleted what I said earlier because it was kind of competetive, and I wanted to sound more friendly ;). Cheers, Razorflame 20:50, 28 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Romanian rivers stub tag

Hi, my bot (Yotbot) has gone through all the romanian rivers and replaced stub with romanian stub as you asked for. Yotcmdr✼ Merry Christmas ! ✼ 08:17, 30 December 2008 (UTC) Reply

Thanks and cheers :). My bot, Darkicebot, went through all of the Switzerland articles and did the same for them yesterday whilst I still edited away here. Cheers, Razorflame 15:22, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
No problem. If you need anything else checking (if your bot is doing something else) just give me a shout. My bot is currently creating articles for me! Yotcmdr✼ Merry Christmas ! ✼ 15:27, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I would first ask the community for concensus about using a bot to create articles before actually creating the articles using a bot. Cheers, Razorflame 15:30, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I don't want to make you support my bot, but if you look through the articles he's made, they look good to me. Yotcmdr✼ Merry Christmas ! ✼ 16:13, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I have no problems with the articles being created, its' just the question of need. Cheers, Razorflame 16:15, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Question of need?? I think you have to face it. If I don't do, and my bot doesn't either, nobody will write them at all, the wiki will die if people don't edit. Yotcmdr✼ Merry Christmas ! ✼ 16:17, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
I retract my question of need statement. I wasn't quite trying to say that. Cheers, Razorflame 16:19, 30 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Darkicebot in vi.wiki

Hello, in Vietnamese Wikipedia, you must wait for a month before being bot flagged. During that time, please modify your bot to edit with long interval time, so that you don't flood our RecentChanges page. Thank you and Happy New Year. Vinhtantran (talk) 04:39, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hmm....Sure thing. I'll change the interval time to something a bit shorter. Cheers, Darkicebot (talk) 04:47, 31 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Striking instead?

Thanks for this, but I think striking it would have been best, because now my comment looks like I'm commenting myself... — RyanCross (talk) 05:06, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I think you are right about that, although we could also remove that comment you made as well ;). Cheers, Razorflame 05:07, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'd rather have comments striked than removed to be honest. Same thing with RfA pages, RfDs, etc.—you don't remove, you strike. — RyanCross (talk) 05:18, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I'll keep that in mind from now on. I thought that it was alright to remove something from a page that wasn't an RFA or RFD page, but now that I know, I can start striking stuff ;). You learn something new every day ;). Cheers, Razorflame 05:20, 1 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey razorflame

Hey, sorry about doing random edits however i was simply showing my friends how quickly Wikipedia is monitored. I plan to soon do a presentation in front of my school board based on it to encourage the use of it. Many of the teachers are skeptical about information posted here. Anyways thanks for understanding.

-darkflame 204.38.171.25 (talk) 18:44, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

A better way of showing them how quickly Wikipedia is patrolled is to show them the English Wikipedia's Recent Changes. While it does move quickly, you are almost guaranteed to see exactly how quickly vandalism is reverted over there. Even if it was for showing people how quickly Wikipedia is patrolled, I would highly recommend you refrain from doing such edits in the future. Cheers, Razorflame 18:46, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Re: RFA

Really? Wouldn't have expected you after the past between us to nominate me. It's not something I have actively sought out here but I am one on en.wiki and could probably help out here quite a bit through my past experience. So yes, I would accept a nomination. -Djsasso (talk) 02:34, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, really. What has happened in the past does not affect what happens in the future or the present ;). I will write up a nomination now. Cheers, Razorflame 03:41, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

In the future, Razorflame, remember to wait for the user to formally accept the RFA on the RFA itself before transcluding it. Not a big deal in this case since it was accepted three minutes after you transcluded it, but just bear this in mind for the future, Either way (talk) 03:59, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ok, will remember that in the future :). Thanks, Razorflame 04:02, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I just happened to have the rfa page watchlisted so I saw it. -Djsasso (talk) 04:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've had the RfA page watchlisted for around 8 months now ;). Razorflame 04:11, 9 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, its the first thing I watchlist when I start editing a wiki. Gives me a sense of how much drama a wiki has. -Djsasso (talk) 00:36, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
The other pages I watchlisted quickly were most of the Wikipedia namespace pages that actually get quite a bit of traffic (AN, RFCU, RFRB, etc.). I didn't end up watchlisting the RfA page until after I started to nominate users for administrator. You will be my fourth nomination that I have done on this site. Cheers, Razorflame 00:42, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reverts to Darkicebot

Why did you just revert about ten of Darkicebot's removals of interwiki links? The articles the bot removed are either redlinks or disambig pages on en.wiki. It seems like perfectly legitimate removals to me. Either way (talk) 21:01, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I reverted them because even if they link to disambiguation pages over on the English Wikipedia, they still deserve to be linked. I have noticed this happening several times in the past, and I always undid the changes because they seemed to be either mistakes or links to disambiguation pages. Having an interwiki link to a disambiguation page isn't that bad in my opinion. Cheers, Razorflame 21:05, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Calmare, Iowa, Rowletts, Kentucky, Monkey's Eyebrow, Kentucky, Lexington Greene, Kentucky, and Elwood, Kentucky are all empty articles on Wikipedia. The other four are disambig links. Either way (talk) 21:08, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've reverted your reverts on these pages (I see you got to one of them first). Majorly is right; you need to be more careful in your reverts with rollback. Either way (talk) 21:10, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I will be more careful in the future :). As for those disambiguation pages, I will fix them up on here :). Cheers, Razorflame 21:11, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

As you may (or may not) have noticed, i've deceided i'm going to update the Wikicup scores on a weekly basis, one pool a day. This is because some users haven't been updating their own scores and also to reduce the margin for error with different rule interpretations.

However, because i'm a lazy person, I won't be scoring yours due to you large amount of edits. Would you be happy to do it yourself once a week (your pool's update day is Wednesday)?

To keep it fair, I score as follows:

  • Any edit to the mainspace counts as a basic edit. My check on you from January 1st till today at 18.33UTC was 1193.
  • The first edit to a new article is what counts for short stub, stub or new article. No further points can be gained by making the articles bigger.
  • DYK hooks have to appear on the main page to be counted.
  • GAs/VGAs obviously have to be promted!

AdThanksVance!

BG7even 18:40, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sounds good to me. I have been extremely lazy as of late in terms of updating that. If you would do the honors of updating it with as current of info as you can, I will take over from there for the remainder of the time that the Wikicup is in progress. Cheers, Razorflame 18:43, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok, well your pool isnt due until tommorrow, so I will do so then. Quick question to save me time, with your new articles, most seem to be over 300 bytes - is this the case with all of them? And are any over 2k? Thanks, BG7even 18:46, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
To keep it fair, I scored my new article creations based upon the amount of words there were on the page. As far as I know, most of my articles falls under the 300 byte text mark. Only 2 articles made by me were larger than 800 bytes of text, and only 2 were bigger than 2,000 bytes of text. Cheers, Razorflame 18:48, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok. Did you count new article creations as basic edits as well? I might just have to find a spare few hours and do it from scratch (it's not your fault! ;) ) BG7even 19:00, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
No, I did not count them as basic edits because that would give people like me an unfair advantage. See the corresponding discussion on the talk page. Cheers, Razorflame 19:02, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok. (This scoring thing is harder than I thought :P). So, to sum up: Basic Edits=All Edits except new article edits which count towards either short stub, stub or new article, but not all three. DYK, GA and VGA are obvious. Is that about it? Thanks, BG7even 19:05, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yep, that's about it. Cheers, Razorflame 19:06, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks. BG7even 19:08, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nudity

You commented at the voting discussion for Wikipedia:Proposed_very_good_articles#Nudity_2. Another user has expressed concerns that there are some sourcing issues with the article that need to be addressed before this is passed as a very good article. Would you mind reviewing the discussion at the vote page and adding your input (or help to find sources, if you can)? Thank you, Either way (talk) 22:01, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the notice. I have read through the discussion and found that there isn't much input that I can provide. However, due to the sourcing concerns, I have abstained my vote (removed it). Cheers, Razorflame 14:54, 21 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Romania PGA

I have closed it as a pass after I !voted.

Just a note, and feel free to tell me to GTFO, but I don't think you should extend the !voting of your own nomination - it just feels to me as if you are trying to game the system. Forgive me if I am wrong!

Thanks,

BG7even 15:03, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

That wasn't my intention. I wasn't trying to game the system. I was extending the vote because it definitely is worthy of GA status and because it doesn't seem like the PGA page is getting much traffic, so I was trying to make the vote longer so that more people could vote and voice their opinions about the page. I wasn't doing it so that it would pass. I wanted to hear what people said about it (more than just the 4 people that had already voted). I would never try to game the system. Cheers, Razorflame 15:06, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm sure it wasn't, and I hope I didn't come across as acusing you of doing so. The PGA and PVGA pages aren't getting much activity unfortunately. I'm going to propose a temporary change to the !voting criteria at ST soon. Best, BG7even 15:09, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I was actually just about to write a proposed change to the criteria right after I reply to this. Cheers, Razorflame 15:12, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
Lol well you are welcome to do it - i've been planning it for a few days now but I keep forgetting! My suggestion is basically reduce !voting number by one on P(V)GA, and reduce !voting percentage by 10% on both - this should allow more !votes and more suitable articles Thanks, BG7even 15:15, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I have proposed the change already. Two possibilities that I have proposed are either reduce the number of votes needed from 5 down to 4 or make the votes last 14 or 21 days instead of the 7 that it is set at. Cheers, Razorflame 15:21, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

GhalyBot

  • Sorry; I will be askinf gor a Bot flag, would you like me to stop the bot for now , because in some other wikis they wanted to see the work of the bot before the request is approved, and I ran it to make you aware of the changes before the request. Many thanks and sorry again. Ghaly (talk) 15:37, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
    • Don't worry about it :). Yes, I still think that you should run the bot to give us a basic understanding of what your bot does, but in general, it is a good idea to ask for the flag first before running test edits ;). Cheers, Razorflame 15:41, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for the heads-up. I took a break, from mid-October until last week, after all that horse#@*& with Ionas68224, resolving to stay off this Wiki until he was re-blocked or banned. Now that I see he's more or less permanently gone (for the same reasons I noticed, in my own situation!), I don't mind resuming work on here. I think I will make that request... I actually wouldn't mind going for adminship, but work and personal matters do come first for me, so that might not be best. Cheers. Zephyrad (talk) 19:07, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. I was wondering if you wanted to come along to Wikibooks and help out, as we need a lot of work. I wouldn't normally ask people out of the blue, but we only have a few active users, and we don't have a Geography wikibook yet (an area you seem to specialise in). It just looks like you might want a break from the hustle and bustle of Wikipedia and come to a wiki that only has two or three active users. Just to let you know I´ve finished my first round of comments of Romania. I hope they are of help. And sorry if it came across that I suggested you made bad articles, that was never my intention. What I meant was that you should try, where possible, to link to decent Wikipedia articles instead of relying too much on wikt. Or, if possible, simplify the language. Good luck. I spoke to him on IRC and he threatened to leave over it. Honestly I can't believe we can differ over such a small matter. He ignored the guideline on a talk page. Regardless if it was a subpage talk, of project talk, its misuse of rollback by our guidelines (of which, tells me I can remove it quickly; I chose only to warn him instead). Question

Regarding this, that category doesn't exist, so is there a reason you re-added it? Cheers, –Juliancolton (talk) 17:30, 3 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, there is a reason why I re-added it. The reason is because that is the category that we use for articles such as that. Look at any of the communes of the department of Ain or Aisne. You will see that the category used there is the same as the one that I re-added. Further, the category that I re-added will become more populated with articles once I get the article that has the list of the communes written here. Section in LSD paragraph needs speedy change or removal

Why did you re-add that section to the LSD page. It is about how methamphetamine works not LSD and definitley needs no place in the article. It also may be confusing to naive users. To put it mildly, it shoudn't be there in the first place, let alone be put back after deletion.--74.234.139.50 (talk) 15:34, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I re-added the section because you didn't give a very good rationale for deleting it in the first place. Now that you have explained it, I would recommend bringing up the proposed change to the article in the talk page first before going ahead and deleting the section. Hope this helps, Razorflame 15:36, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sure, I'll do that now.--74.234.139.50 (talk) 15:38, 5 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Razorflame I have created the IRB article and you placed a {{complex}} tag on it. Could you help me and point out what you feel is complex and I will change it. I tried to make it as simple as possible that is why I have only created a stub so that I could write a very simple one in word and bing it here thanks for your help. BigDunc (talk) 22:02, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Of course I can help guide you through what needs to be simplified :). First off, some of the words that you use are complex and could use simplification: independent (change to free), Ireland needs to be wikified, role (can be changed to part), independence (can be changed to freedom or something similar). I've fixed the rest of the article for you. Cheers, Razorflame 22:21, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

re: Nice edits

Thanks! I used to edit as an IP here so I am roughly familiar with how this whole wiki thing works. I hope that I will be of good use here. By the way, how do I move a page? I was attempting to move Tickle to Tickling (to make it conform with pages such as Fishing and Eating) but I couldn't find a move link at the top of the page beside the edit link. WaterGlass (talk) 01:22, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your account is brand new, so you are not able to move pages yet. You will be able to move pages within the next couple of days. You have to be a member of the user group: Auto-confirmed users before you are allowed to move pages. This usually takes 2-4 days from the date that you signed up with the Simple English Wikipedia. Romania

Hey, thanks for the barnstar! All of the links I unlinked were previously lined (Northern Transylvania redirected to Transylvania, which was linked previously in the article). I will continue copyediting it, and I truly hope it will become a VGA! obentomusubi 05:02, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I would suggest you read the talk page first before you continue to copyedit it. I've done about 300+ edits to the page to get it up to GA status and up to nearly VGA status. There are just a few more things left to do. If you would do some of the bigger jobs, like finding references for the things that need citations, and the major copyedits that are needed, that would be great! Cheers, Razorflame 05:04, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I actually voted in support of it becoming a VGA. I don't want to touch it even more – I might run the risk of destroying all the meticulous work you did to get it thus far. Would you please express your opinion on my suggestions of the Wikicup at the talk page? Thanks. Template:User sw

Hello, Razorflame. Recently, I've changed my language status - when I preview the changes which I made, I saw that above mentioned template has already done! Actually, I didn't think if that template is going to be there. Therefore, thanks for your creation on the Swahili template, along with it's superb article you made for the Swahili people! I wish you nothing, but the best. Stay blessed!--Mwanaharakati(Longa) 09:14, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the note :). Not sure if I created the User sw template, but if I did, then I guess I did. Cheers, Razorflame 20:19, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

<sarcasm>Why was I not notified that my DYK passed? Hm.... I am very disappointed. I thought that you were better than that. Shame on you!</sarcasm> SimonKSK 23:46, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is no notification process. You just have to watch the DYK page like a hawk. Cheers, Razorflame 23:53, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
That stinks. Maybe you could...ah...steal the notification process from enwiki. Just saying. SimonKSK 23:58, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Generally, I watchlist a page on here if it is important or edited frequently. I would watchlist the DYK page if you have trouble finding your hooks getting promoted. Cheers, Razorflame 02:17, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

195.195.131.164 / NPOV

Hi, you may want to add a {{subst:uw-npov1}} tag as we've had a small run of problems with this user today. Check his contribs and talk page for more info. Cheers fr33kman t - c 14:40, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

His contributions have always generally been from a POV stance, so posting this on his talk page most likely won't dissuade him from making these kinds of edits, and could even be seen as counter-productive. Cheers, Razorflame 14:54, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
However, I have decided that this issue was serious enough to warrant a customized warning of sorts. Cheers, Razorflame 14:57, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

5717 Damir

Hi, regarding your recent new page 5717 Damir are we allowed to just put the source in the edit summary rather than using the {{enwp based}} tag? Cause that would save time! :-) fr33kman t - c 17:51, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yep, as far as I know, that conforms to the GFDL, so it is an acceptable way to credit en:WP as the source of an article. Cheers, Razorflame 18:44, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yup as long as you place a link to the en page in the edit summary and mention that it was based on that article. -Djsasso (talk) 19:19, 12 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect coding on ruwiki

Hello there,

Starting from yesterday your bot is using incorrect coding on ruwiki so the description of the action is unreadable. I can only guess that this is KOI8-R or CP1251. Did you have some sort of upgrade recently? Cheers--Mstislavl (talk) 23:07, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I updated the interwiki.py file yesterday. This problem will probably be fixed by the next nightly update. Please be patient and wait until tomorrow and it should have the correct coding by then. Cheers, Razorflame 23:26, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Darkicebot on ia.wiki

Hello Razorflame. You may run Darkicebot on ia.wikipedia . Its edits will count as test edits. Regards, --Julian (talk) 23:42, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the go ahead and thanks for letting me know here. I've already enabled it to edit on ia Wikipedia, however, because there are so many other bots, it might take a while for it to even make its first edit on the ia Wikipedia. Please keep that in mind. Thanks, Razorflame 23:51, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

The Mummy (1999 movie)

Hi, can you recheck this page for me please? I've done some editing for complexity and am trying to figure out if there is anything else I can do to simplify the prose. Cheers :) fr33kman t - c 18:39, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Did you get rid of the red linked categories? Cheers, Razorflame 19:08, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Not yet. I'm doing a personal review of the entire category tree so that I know what's here and what's not and what I should create and what I shouldn't. I appreciate any and all suggestions you'd care to make. I'm trying to stick to the three page minimum "rule" for new cats. Thanks for reviewing the complexity. It's hard when you first start here, but writing in Basic English does tend to get easier after a while :) fr33kman t - c 20:24, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've already gone through and done a thourough copyedit of the entire article. There were a few sentences that needed to be broken up (which I did), and I've already fixed all of the categories and changed them as they should be here on the Simple English Wikipedia. Cheers, Razorflame 20:26, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I've started making some new cats in the Nazi Germany posts I'm doing, let me know if you see any errors, or just fix them if you want to. Cheers fr33kman t - c 03:57, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, but I've been very busy getting my bot flagged on other wikipedias, so I haven't had much time to edit here lately. I'll take a look at it once the drama of the other wikipedias has died down. Otherwise, good work! Cheers, Razorflame 04:00, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Darkicebot@fa.wiki

Please take a look at here: fa:User_talk:Darkicebot. It seems like that your bot add "ربات افزودن" before each link in the edit summary. See Pywikipedia=> interwiki.py edit summaries for standard format. Thanks in advanced. -- Meisam (talk) 22:32, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Darkicebot@th.wiki

Hello. Your bot adding interwiki on Thai Wikipedia writes unreadable description. It appears as "โรบอต เพิ่ม: " (I don't know what it is). This is caused by wrong encoding. Your bot should post the message in Unicode, not ASCII. --Octahedron80 (talk) 03:54, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I suggest "ลิงก์ข้ามภาษา". But there is an easier way, to use English word for all language, you will not face the problem again. --Octahedron80 (talk) 04:02, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Done. Thanks for the feedback! Cheers, Razorflame 04:04, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Now it is partial readable. It has more character than "ลิงก์ข้ามภาษา". Watch thwiki recent change log how it looks. I will not disturb you at this point any longer. Thanks in advance. --Octahedron80 (talk) 04:21, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

I copypasted exactly what you wrote for me to add. Hmm...anyways, no problems! Cheers, Razorflame 04:22, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Strange edit summary

Edit summaries of your bot are strange. It is not Korean letter, maybe encoding problem. Could you try to fix this problem? Thanks.--Kwj2772 (talk) 04:35, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I've already done this for four other languages, so I will just change it to English. You all right with that? Cheers, Razorflame 04:36, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Try to change source file encoding to UTF-8.--Kwj2772 (talk) 04:39, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Don't know how. I only know how to run the bot, not change source code...If you were to give me what the bot should be saying, I'll go into the code and fix the language that the bot uses for you. Cheers, Razorflame 04:40, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
If you Copy & paste exactly from http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/pywikipedia/trunk/pywikipedia/interwiki.py , don't do that. Encoding can be different. If you have TortoiseSVN, I advise clear your pywikipedia directory and checkout from http://svn.wikimedia.org/svnroot/pywikipedia/trunk/pywikipedia/ , and update regularly using SVN program.--Kwj2772 (talk) 04:49, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
It will be fixed the next time I update (which will be tomorrow at 8:00AM CST. It should clear out the encoding problem then. Thanks for the feedback! Razorflame 04:50, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Encoding issue for edit summaries (Darkicebot)

Hello Razorflame,
please see als:Special:Contributions/Darkicebot, your bot edit summary encoding is wrong. (ö=>ö, ü=>ü etc.) Don't you use PyWikipedia (UTF-8)? Is this only for summaries or for some article content too? --- Best regards, Melancholie (talk) 04:41, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is only for edit summaries. I've been plagued by these problems since I started running my bot again. Could I just change it to English for you? Cheers, Razorflame 04:44, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's ok for now. But I am wondering why everything else is UTF-8. I hope you will fix that issue in future ;-) --- Kind regards, Melancholie (talk) 04:48, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think that will be fixed with the next nightly update. Cheers, Razorflame 04:49, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. BTW: I recommend to switch your edit summary to English for all other languages too, as almost all languages except English will be affected the same (ugly) way. --- Best regards, Melancholie (talk) 04:51, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I'm going to update it right now, so it should automatically be updated across all languages. Cheers, Razorflame 05:09, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Darkicebot@hy.wiki

Please limit the number and frequency of your bot's edits while the bot flag is being discussed (about a week). Also the edit summaries contain some gibberish (non-unicode encoding?). Please use the English edit summaries. Thanks. ― Teak 05:35, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

First off, sure thing. I will lengthen the edit time down again. Secondly, I am pretty sure that my latest update should have fixed the problem with the edit summaries. If not, then I will happily change it for you. Hold on while I change the edit times. Cheers, Razorflame 05:37, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

removing ru.wiki-Centrifuge

In this edit your bot removed the link to Центрифуга@ru.wiki which is a Centrifuge related article (as much as it seems!). Can you please check the operation? Thanks in advanced-- Meisam (talk) 09:26, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

It seems that the change in question was later undone by another bot. Cheers, Razorflame 16:27, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
:) fa.wiki is RTL(Right To Left), meaning that your bot's revision is later revision in this dif: [1]! Your bot just deleted the link to ru. -- Meisam (talk) 19:03, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
If the link was not valid, then it would remove the link. If the link was valid, it probably was because it was a redirect or disambiguation. Cheers, Razorflame 19:28, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Darkicebot@bg.wiki

Hello. As you may suspect after seeing this headline, there is a problem with the encoding of the edit summaries of your bot in the Bulgarian Wikipedia. Please fix the encoding or use English. Thank you. --Daggerstab (talk) 19:00, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

This problem should have been fixed when I updated the bot last. If it didn't get updated, then it will get updated when I next update it, which will be in about 6 hours. For now, my bot will not be running, so you have nothing to worry about. Cheers, Razorflame 19:29, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Uncat

Hi, I've never used {{uncat}} before, what is it? fr33kman t - c 04:06, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's for use with pages that you either don't know the category for, or for pages that don't have any categories. Cheers, Razorflame 04:12, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Cheers for that, I'll be making use of it then. So I was right to snip it out of Steamboat (no need to reply if correct, know you're busy). I know how to do cats, but haven't needed to make many (mostly all made on enWP). fr33kman t - c 04:15, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yep, you were correct in that. Cheers, Razorflame 04:16, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
