This novel is about a boy. This is not a normal boy because of the way he looks (Treacher Collins Syndrome) . He has two or three face surgeries per year. He is normally home-schooled but this year is a little different, he is going to middle school.

The book is in the point of view of different people around Auggie's ( the diagnosed one) life.
