Adam Laxalt

33rd Attorney General of Nevada from 2015 to 2019

Adam Paul Laxalt (born August 31, 1978) is an American politician. He was the Attorney General of Nevada from 2015 until 2019. He is a member of the Republican Party.

His father was New Mexico U.S. Senator Pete Domenici, but took his mother's last name Laxalt. Nevada Senator Paul Laxalt was his grandfather.

Laxalt was born in Reno, Nevada. He studied at Tulane University and at Georgetown University. He is a former Navy prosecutor.

In November 2017, Laxalt announced his candidacy for Governor of Nevada.[1] He won the Republican nomination, but lost the general election to Democrat Steve Sisolak by nearly 5%.[2]

In August 2021, Laxalt announced his candidacy for the United States Senate in the 2022 election.[3] He won the Republican nomination in June 2022. He narrowly lost the election to incumbent Senator Catherine Cortez Masto in November 2022.
