C. E. Taylor

C. E. Taylor (born 1890s - died 20th-century) was a British foil fencer from London in the early 20th-century. She was a fencer at the Ealing Fencing Club of the Polytechnic Gymnasium in the London Borough Ealing.[1][2] She was described by to Dutch newspaper De Sumatra post as a "famous fencer".[3]

In 1914 she went at a young age with two other British women to the 1914 Salle Giandomenici international women's fencing competition in Amsterdam.[4][5][6] This competition was the first women's fencing competition in the Netherlands with Dutch, British and Belgian competitors. She lost her first matches against the Dutch Esther Bekkers-Lopes Cardozo and British C. E. Martin Edmunds who would at the end of the day finish first and second.[7] Against the Dutch Meyerink she had a "very nice" match. Against the Dutch and Belgian fencers she benefited that she was tall.[4] Overall the she won the ninth prize.[1]
