Cornwall is a city in the Canadian province of Ontario. The population of Cornwall was 45,965 in 2006. The mayor of Cornwall is Bob Kilger. The first European settlement in Cornwall was established in 1784 although Aboriginal peoples lived in and around the area for millennia. The name originally "New Johnstown" then the name was officially changed after and was named Cornwall after the Duke of Cornwall, Prince George, in 1834.[1]
