Damon Keith
American judge
Damon Jerome Keith (July 4, 1922 – April 28, 2019) was an American judge. He was a Senior Judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.[1] He served as Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit from 1977 until his retirement in 1995. He was nominated by President Jimmy Carter.
Keith was born in Detroit, Michigan. He studied at Wayne State University, at Howard University and at West Virginia State University. Keith married Rachel Boone in 1953. They had three daughters. Boone died in 2007.
Keith died on April 28, 2019 at his home in Detroit, at the age of 96.[2] The cause was problems from leukemia and heart disease.[3]
