English Restoration
restoration of the English monarchy
The English Restoration, or simply Restoration, was an episode in the history of England beginning in 1660 when the English monarchy, Scottish monarchy and Irish monarchy were restored under King Charles II after the English Civil War and Interregnum. The term Restoration means both the actual event which put a monarch back in power, and the period immediately after Charles II came to power.
