European Monetary System

organization established in 1979 under the Jenkins European Commission

The European Monetary System (EMS) was a system where most of the nations of the European Economic Community (EEC) would have their currencies merged together. It was created in 1979 under then President of the European Commission Roy Jenkins.[1]
