Besides being outdated, this map is also fairly inaccurate, perhaps most notably in Eurasia; much of the area where the grey dips southward between the Aral Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk should be orange instead (surrounding and extending north of Lake Balkhash, and eastward through [at least the southern part of] Lake Baikal and beyond), due to the fairly widespread presence in summer of (in particular) Phalacrocorax carbo, as well as Pelecanus crispus (and, to a more restricted extent, Pelecanus onocrotalus and Microcarbo pygmaeus), across much of that region (as well as Anhinga melanogaster, Microcarbo niger, Phalacrocorax fuscicollis, and, marginally, Pelecanus philippensis, in the grey part of the Indian Subcontinent south of the Himalayas)
