Deutsch: Das Wappen des Landkreises Mayen-Koblenz wurde am 27. April 1971 vom rheinland-pfälzischen Innenministerium verliehen. Die Krone verweist auf den Königsstuhl von Rhens, wo früher die römisch-deutschen Könige gewählt wurden. Der Wellenbalken symbolisiert den Rhein und die Mosel, der (Maien-)baum als so genanntes „redendes Symbol“ steht für die Landwirtschaft im Kreis.
English: The arms were granted on April 27, 1971. The arms combine elements from the former two district arms, the tree is derived from the arms of the Mayen district, the fess wavy and the crown from the Koblenz district arms. |
