Object history
Deutsch: Sonderhofen wird erstmals 742 urkundlich erwähnt als königliches Fiskalgut zur Ausstattung des Bistums Würzburg. Zu dieser Zeit oder etwas später sind wohl schon wesentliche Einkünfte an das Benediktinerkloster St. Burkard in Würzburg gekommen. Darauf weist die Lilie aus dem Klosterwappen. Der Löwe ist dem Wappen der Herren von Hohenlohe entnommen, die im 14. Jahrhundert ihre Besitzungen in Sonderhofen an das Hochstift Würzburg verkauften.
