Deutsch: „In blauem, gold (gelb) bordiertem Schild ein aufrechter goldener (gelber) Anker.“ Der Stadt ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten Münster vom 10.02.1977 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. Das Wappen basiert auf einem Siegel aus dem Jahre 1721. Es ist abgeleitet von dem der Herren von Ibbenbüren. Die Bordüre wurde 1942 hinzugefügt.
English: „Azure, with a bordure Or, a raising anchor Or.“ The arms were last granted on February 10, 1977. Ibbenburen received city rights in 1721 and the oldest seal dates from the same time. It already showed an anchor. The anchor is derived from the arms of the Lords of Ibbenbüren. The border was granted in 1942.
