English: The Garnet Star (Erakis/Herschel's Garnet Star/μ Cephei) is a star in Cepheus constellation. It's a red supergiant star of spectral type M2Ia. The star is very old, it has begun to fuse helium into carbon, whereas a healthy main sequence star fuses hydrogen into helium. At the ending of its life, it's to go supernova, while probably can leave a dense and big black hole.
Italiano: La Stella Granata (Erakis/La Stella Granata di Herschel/μ Cephei) è una stella nella costellazione di Cefeo. Essa è una supergigante rossa di classe spettrale M2Ia. La stella è molto vecchia, ha già iniziato a fondere l'elio in carbonio, dopo aver cessato la normale fusione di idrogeno in elio. Al termine della propria vita, essa esploderà in una supernova, che probabilmente lascierà un buco nero denso e grosso. |
