File:Flag of Syrian Kurdistan.svg

Original file(SVG file, nominally 640 × 456 pixels, file size: 714 bytes)

Summary

Description
English: Flag of the Movement for a Democratic Society (TEV-DEM) in Rojava. This is the official flag of Rojava (Western Kurdistan) since Kurds declared their self-autonomous region. This flag became more commonly used by Syrian Kurds than the usual "sun-emblazoned" flag of Kurdistan by 2013, along with the declaration of a de-facto autonomous Syrian Kurdistan. (see springtimeofnations.blogspot.com, November 2013, for the use of the Kurdish flag in 2012, see al-monitor.com, featuring an image of Kobani Kurds with Kurdish flags dated July 2012). Usage appears to have taken off in late 2012, see theatlantic.com for an image dated November 2012 of a Kurdish protest in Al-Hasakah with numerous PYD flags.
