"Ned R. McWherter, governor of Tennessee, speaks at the commissioning ceremony for the nuclear-powered fleet ballistic missile submarine USS TENNESSEE (SSBN 734). The TENNESSEE, which is being commissioned at the Naval Underwater Systems Center, is the first submarine equipped to carry the new Trident II D-5 missile.
