English: The Arms depicts a shield depicting the Lion of Saint Mark (Winged Lion with a halo; Symbol of Saint Mark the Evangelist; patron Saint of Venice) standing in a blue field. The Lion holds in one hand the Gospel of Saint Mark with the words: "Pax tibi Marce, Evangelista meus" or "peace to you, Mark my Evangelist".
