Ein Tampon mit Applikator.

Der linke Bereich zeigt das große Röhrchen. Es besitzt eine glatte Oberfläche und ein rundes Ende zur einfachen Einführung. Das runde Ende besitzt eine sternförmige Öffnung, die zur Entfernung des Applikatorröhrchens nach dem Einbringen des Tampons dient. Das Tampon selbst befindet sich innerhalb dieses Röhrchens (aus Papier oder speziellem Kunststoff).

Der mittlere Teil befindet sich an einer Seite des großen Röhrchens und schiebt das Tampon durch die Vagina und dient zur Positionierung.

Beide Röhrchen, das große äußere und das mittlere (der Applikator), werden nach der Einbringung des Tampons abgezogen und somit entfernt.

Der 'Bindfaden aus Baumwolle, zu sehen an der rechten Seite, hängt nach der Applikation des Tampons aus der Vagina heraus, um dieses nach dem Gebrauch einfach und hygienisch entfernen zu können.

A tampon with applicator.

The leftmost part is the bigger tube, which has a smooth surface and a round end for easier insertion. There's a star shape opening at the round end. The tampon itself rests inside the bigger tube. (The tube shown is made of cardboard)

The middle section is the narrower tube. It nested inside one end of the bigger tube. The narrow tube slides into the bigger tube, pushing the tampon through and into the vagina.

Both tubes (the applicator) are withdrawn after the tampon is inserted.

The string by right end, would be hanging out of the vagina, allows for easy extraction.
