Description WWI German Field Gun in North Sydney. The State War Trophy Committee allocated the gun to North Sydney Council in 1921. It was unveiled by Major-General Sir Granville Ryrie. [1] The plaque reads: 77MM Field Gun No.5973 captured by 4th Batallion A.I.F. East of Proyart, France. August 23rd 1918.
