Florin Cîțu

Romanian economist and politician

Florin-Vasile Cîțu (born 1 April 1972) is a Romanian politician and senator. He was elected in 2016. On 4 November 2019, he became finance minister in the Orban Cabinet, lead by prime minister, Ludovic Orban.

On 26 February 2020, after the Romanian Parliament passed a motion of no confidence against the Orban Cabinet, President Klaus Iohannis designated Cîțu Prime Minister of Romania and asked him to form a new government.[2][3] He resigned in November 2021 and later became President of the Senate of Romania.
