Gene Saks
American stage and film director
Gene Saks (Jean Michael Saks; November 8, 1921 – March 28, 2015) was an American stage and movie director. He is known for his movies Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple, and Cactus Flower.

Saks was born in New York City on November 6, 1921.[1] He studied at Cornell University and at The New School. Saks was married to Bea Arthur from 1950 to 1980. They had two children. He married to Keren Saks. They have one child.
Saks died from pneumonia in his East Hampton, New York home on March 28, 2015, aged 93.[2]
