Guy Verhofstadt

Prime Minister of Belgium from 1999 to 2008

Guy Verhofstadt (born 11 April 1953) is a Belgian politician of the Open VLD. From 1999 to 2008, he was prime minister of Belgium. Since 2009, he has been an MEP for the ALDE fraction in the European Parliament. Verhofstadt is pro-European and aims for a more integrated, federal Europe.
