I. V. Sasi

Indian film director

Irruppam Veedu Sasidaran (28 March 1948 – 24 October 2017),[2] better known as I. V. Sasi, (മലയാളം: ഐ.വി. ശശി) was an Indian movie director. He made over 150 movies in various Indian languages and genres. He was known for his Malayalam movies of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, although he directed a few Tamil and Hindi movies as well.

In 2015, he was awarded the J. C. Daniel Award, the highest award in Malayalam cinema.

Sasi died at his home in Saligramam, Chennai on 24 October 2017 at the age of 69 at 10:30 am, due to a massive heart attack.[3]
