Jacob Rothschild, 4th Baron Rothschild

English peer, investment banker and philanthropist (1936–2024)

Nathaniel Charles Jacob Rothschild, 4th Baron Rothschild OM GBE (29 April 1936 – 26 February 2024) was a British investment banker and philanthropist of Jewish descent.[1] He was a member of the prominent Rothschild banking family. He was also Honorary President of the Institute for Jewish Policy Research.[2] His net worth was at US $5 billion as of 2015.[3]

Rothschild was a known philanthropist who donated his money to art and culture centers. He was Chairman of Trustees of the National Gallery from 1985 to 1991, and from 1992 to 1998, chairman of the National Heritage Memorial Fund.

Rothschild died in London, England on 26 February 2024, at the age of 87.[4]
