Kaiserslautern (German pronunciation: [ˌkaɪzɐsˈlaʊtɐn] (listen); Palatine German: Lautre) is a city in the southwest of Germany, in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It has about 100,000 inhabitants, a university and a well-known soccer team.
